The Story

The fifth Federation starship to be named Enterprise was a Galaxy-class vessel and the flagship of the fleet. From its launch in 2363, the Enterprise-D was commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Much larger than its predecessors, the Enterprise-D was 641 meters long, with 42 decks and a crew of 1,012. Its top, sustainable speed was warp 9.6, and it was armed with phasers and photon torpedos. In 2371, a warp core breach destroyed the stardrive section and caused the saucer to crash-land on the surface of Veridian III.
